How We Work?

Despite more than 50 years of Independence, India remains deeply entrenched in poverty. Although there has been significant economic development and generation of wealth, yet between 25 and 30 per cent are still below the poverty line. Most of the causes and effects of poverty are interrelated, and it is thus no surprise that according to the census of India, 35 per cent of the population is illiterate, which is one of the main reasons of poverty in the country. Measures of poverty include the access, or lack thereof, to medical and healthcare facilities, and sanitation and potable water, energy sources, and associated state services. The government has taken a number of steps to counter the causes and effects of poverty, but still there is need of further development steps, In this scenario, non governmental organisations (NGOs) and other institutions have contributed manifold to improving the situation in both rural and urban areas.
